National Take Back Day 2018

NTB2018National Take Back Day is April 28th | Spring Cleaning

Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose, and abuse. The Take-Back programs are the best way to dispose of old drugs. A Drop-Off Collection Site is available at the Public Safety Building 220 Washington St. and at 6 Newbury St. (Teele Sq) Somerville Fire Station.

How to properly dispose of drugs:

1. Remove the medicine from its original container and mix it with an undesirable substance, such as used coffee grounds or kitty litter.

2. Place the mixture in a sealable bag, empty bag, or other containers to prevent the medicine from leaking or breaking out of the garbage bag.
