Regional Narcotics Operation

Over the past few months, Massachusetts State Police Officers assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Narcotics Section, along with strong collaborative teamwork with the Cambridge Police Department, Somerville Police Department, Woburn Police Department, Malden Police Department, Melrose Police Department, Wakefield Police Department and special assistance from the United States Secret Service have investigated numerous suspects involved in dealing methamphetamines, cocaine and marijuana in the Middlesex County area.

Prior to and during the investigation, numerous targets were identified as having “Port44” Gang ties/affiliations.  For several years, the “Port44” Gang were suspected in the trafficking of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and other types of illegal controlled substances, as well as participating in numerous homicides and other violent crimes that have been believed to have stemmed from dealing drugs and an ongoing drug turf war against other rival gangs in the Cambridge / Somerville area. As a result, numerous innocent residents have become victims from their wake of violence. On Thursday, May 6, 2021, officers from the above departments peacefully executed four search warrants at four residences, one located in Somerville. During the execution of the search warrants, four known suspects having outstanding arrest warrants issued by local area district courts were present, and arrested. 

Investigators seized a total of approximately:

  1. $16,000 in US Currency
  2.  240 grams of cocaine
  3.  36 grams of methamphetamine
  4.  26 ounces of marijuana
  5.  Two (2) large capacity semi-automatic firearms
  6.  Two (2) semi-automatic firearms
