Crime Log May 28 to June 3, 2024

Assault

24031544: On 5/30/24 at approximately 7:23 PM, Somerville Police responded to Sydney St for report of a fight involving a gun. During the fight, one of the males brandished a silver handgun then they both fled the area. One male fled down Sydney St on foot while the other male fled down Taylor St on a bike. Officers canvassed the scene and located two live rounds of 9mm ammunition and a cardboard box with blood droplets on it.

Commercial Breaking and Entering

24031389: On 5/30/24 at approximately 6:22 AM, Somerville Police responded to a building on McGrath Hwy for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the property manager who stated someone had slept there overnight and left several belongings behind. The property manager observed a male party leaving the property toward the train tracks.

Residential Breaking and Entering

24031626: On 5/31/24 at approximately 6:23 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Sewall St for a report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated medication was stolen from her room.

Arrest

24031237: On 5/29/24 at approximately 1:24 PM, Somerville Police responded to 165 Broadway for report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was attacked by a male with a knife. The victim suffered an injury to his chin. Officers then located the male suspect nearby and recovered a screwdriver from his possession. He was then placed under arrest.

Residential Breaking and Entering

24032418: On 6/3/24 at approximately 11:24 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment complex in Assembly Row for a report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the building manager who stated a male party broke in and stole an electric scooter from the garage. The suspect also cut all the power cords to the computers and phones.

Assault

24032005: On 6/1/24 at approximately 3:54 PM, Somerville Police responded to a business in Assembly Row for report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee who stated he asked a female party for her ID. The father of the female then grabbed the employee’s hair while another male attempted to punch him.
