On Thursday, April 18th, 2024, I was working my assigned 8AM to 4PM shift in the East-1 cruiser. At approximately 12:42PM, Officer Jonathan Thermidor (East-4), and I responded to XX Arlington Street for a male that had destroyed flower pots in the reporting party's driveway. Sargeant Timothy Van Nostrand also responded. The following is a summary of the incident:

While en route, Officer Sergio Garcia, who was working a road construction detail, called units to state that the he was off with the male at XX Arlington Street and he identified the suspect as Mr. Henry Ventura. Mr. Ventura is well-known to Somerville police officers.

Mr. XXXX was the reporting party. He stated that he came outside to find Mr. Ventura in his driveway destroying his flower pots. Mr. Ventura also smashed the basement window in the driveway, causing additional damage to the cement surrounding the window. Mr. Ventura then yelled at Mr. XXXX, non-stop. Mr. XXXX was unable to make out what Mr. Ventura was yelling about. Pictures of all the damage have been attached. Mr. XXXX stated that he does not know Mr. Ventura but that he used to see him all the time, in the area, yelling at people. He also stated that about a month ago, Mr. Ventura would come in his driveway and he would kick him out.

As officers were standing with Mr. Ventura, he continued to be uncooperative, yelling at Mr. XXXX and his wife that he would "come back and do it again." I asked Mr. Ventura if he needed any medical attention, to which he declined; he even began to walk away, to demonstrate that "everything was working just fine."

I then placed Mr. Henry Ventura under arrest for the following charges:

- Massachusetts General Law C. 266 s.126A: Malicious Wanton Destruction of Property

- Massachusetts General Law C. 275 s. 2: Threat to Commit a Crime

While awaiting unit 200 for transport, Mr. Ventura said "I'll find you and fuck you up. I'll follow you around until I get you." He repeated that several times while asking me to release him.

Therefore, I will be charging him with an additional count of Massachusetts General Law C. 275 s.2: Threat to Commit a Crime.

Mr. Ventura was transported back to the Somerville Police Station by the Prisoner Transport Wagon (Unit 200), operated by Officer Dylan Lambert. He was then booked by Lieutenant Michael Capasso.

Respectfully submitted,

Officer Priscilla Ribeiro #349
