22006941: On 2/11/22 at approximately 10:41 AM, Somerville Police responded to the area of Central St & Albion St after a victim reported that while he was in the crosswalk, he was approached by two juvenile males, one of whom displayed what appeared to be a toy gun at him.

Residential Breaking and Entering
22006384: On 2/9/22 at approximately 12:08 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence in the area of Somerville Ave & Park St for an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he saw an unknown person lift his front window then stick a hand through. The victim yelled and the suspect fled.

On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at approximately 1:17 p.m., the Somerville Police Department responded to numerous 911 calls for multiple shots fired in the area of Mystic Avenue and within the Mystic Housing Development.
Police learned that at least two groups of males were involved in a shooting incident within the Mystic Housing Development. A witness provided a description of a vehicle that fled the scene; a description was broadcasted to surrounding police jurisdictions. Somerville Police, along with the State Police conducted an extensive search of the immediate area. One firearm was recovered. One individual who is believed to have been involved in this incident, was located near the Healy School and apprehended.
A short time later, a Medford Police Officer located the fleeing vehicle in Cambridge. Two of the four occupants fled; the Medford Officer was able to detain two others until Cambridge Police arrived. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen in Boston. Cambridge Police placed the two individuals in custody for Receiving Stolen Property who will be questioned regarding the Somerville shooting.
It is not clear whether the individuals are known to each other. Nor is the motive for the incident determined at this time. Police Chief Charles Femino stated he will be deploying additional resources in the area and would like to commend his officers who demonstrated a calm and professional manner throughout this incident.
Although we believe there is no ongoing threat to the immediate area, we ask residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity to the Somerville Police Department. Federal Prosecution of Coleman
On 2/11/22, Jaiir Coleman pleaded guilty for his role in the multiple shootings in Somerville, Chelsea and Cambridge. He received a minimum sentence of 40 years. We are proud of the work done by Somerville Detectives on this case and the collaboration of the agencies involved in this federal prosecution."Coleman admitted to committing six shootings in furtherance of this drug conspiracy. Four shootings took place on Nov. 11, 2019, in Chelsea and Somerville, during which homes and vehicles were struck with gunfire. A fifth shooting took place in May 2020 in Somerville targeting individuals who were believed to be rival gang members. A sixth shooting took place in Cambridge in July 2020, during which Coleman used a machine gun to shoot at a group of individuals in response to a video posting made on social media." Robbery Feb 2, 2022
Armed Robbery
22005269: On 2/2/22 at approximately 3:07 PM, Somerville Police responded to a business in Assembly Row for a robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting person who stated a black man, 6 feet tall, wearing a red, white, and blue winter hat, blue Adidas hooded sweatshirt, and light blue jeans entered the store and began to shoplift various items. When he approached the exit, he brandished a knife at the security guard. Anyone with information regarding this individual is asked to please contact the Somerville Police at 617-625-1600.
